March newsletter
Well, it is March and so far this year is just as bad as last(actually kind of worse because at least last year I’d had a sale through my bookstore by now)especially business-wise. The one bright spot for this month is hopefully going to be this book fair that I found nearby:
But that probably won’t make up for the fact that I had the goal of getting at least one sale every other month but that goal has officially failed. I’m very disappointed.
Writing-wise, things have been a bit better. I wasn’t able to enter that Pro-Writing Aid contest because the entry fee was 20 dollars and I can’t afford to spend that much on something where I’m not guaranteed to get it back. On the other hand, I did finish up to Chapter 4 of Thorned Mirror, anyways, and got a lot of outlining and character work done. As well, I’m now almost halfway done my final edit of Child of Calamity-which I’m thinking of also renaming-and my goal for this month is to finish that.
For a final note, International Women’s day is March 6th, so shoutout to my fellow female authors! And in honour, I thought I’d share who my fave female author is: Ashley Shuttleworth. She’s Canadian like me, and though she’s only written one series so far, said series is one of the best things I’ve ever read. If you’re into lgbt fantasy, specifically fairie stories, it’s called the Hollow Star saga and I highly recommend it.
All right, that’s all for this month. Here’s hoping next month’s will have happier news. As always, thanks for reading and subscribing. Bye for now.
Tara
